THE TRAINER

Can you tell us a little about your Luxottica journey, so far?

I entered the family six years ago as Assistant Manager at the LensCrafters #1 store.
I then moved to Mason’s corporate LensCrafters office on a mission to train new managers. From there, I grew into Store Manager role where I remained for over three years. Here I went through the Field Leader Development Program with Luxottica and was able to step into the Macy’s Market Development Manager role for six months leading eleven LensCrafters at Macy’s in the Chicago and Michigan areas. At the beginning of 2019 I accepted a Senior Manager role at the Cincinnati Service Center in Mason, Ohio for LensCrafters operations.

How is Luxottica different from other employers you’ve had?

Luxottica’s focus on their people stands out to me the most compared to other employers. I have been given amazing opportunities to grow as a leader and have had great mentors and advocates along the way.

What do you love about your job?

In my current position, I love that I can bring my in-store experience to a lot of our projects, ensuring we are making the best decisions for our most important people – our associates!

What is your motto and why?

Be Kind, Work Hard, Wear Killer Glasses!
I choose this motto because I feel that no matter how hard you work, if you’re not kind you won’t go far. Building relationships and gaining people’s trust is key! Plus, I love to represent the brand and our amazing eyewear.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve encountered, and how did you overcome it?

In my career at Luxottica, the biggest challenge I have faced so far is moving from the retail side of the business to our corporate side. I made great connections immediately at the Cincinnati Service Center and learned some great tips and tricks to adapt to the office!

What does Luxottica’s approach to work-life balance?

Luxottica supports a healthy work-life balance by providing us with activities that give us a break from our work and bring fun into the office. Most recently, Lux did this through our health and fitness week. I am pretty passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and enjoy meeting people who share the same values. During health and fitness week, we were able to participate in a fun kickball day and meet a lot of new people.
