THE OBSERVER

Can you tell us a little about your Luxottica journey, so far?

I started as an intern with the automation team in Agordo, four years ago. During that period, I learned how to transform challenges into opportunities for growth, working next to talented colleagues and inspiring leaders in a global workplace. Two years later, I was invited to work in California where I became the manager of the Automation Team. Here at Oakley, I lead the team that designs and builds automation. Our goal is to simplify the operator’s job in the factory and make the working environment safer for our employees.

What do you love about your job?

When it comes to automation there’s no limit to imagination.

What are the most important skills for your role?

Technical, conceptual and human skills. I have to make sure we identify the correct solutions for the best results and that the team is always engaged to support each other with these challenges.

What advice would you give to university students or young professionals thinking about a career in your industry?

Follow your passion and focus on a career path that allows technical and personal development. This will open doors to more opportunities and career advancement.

What does collaboration look like in your office?

The beauty of being a global company is that when it comes to collaboration, we are talking about offices that spread across the world. Despite the global footprint, we are still able to work together to achieve high standards and work towards a common goal.

Are there opportunities for you to mentor other less experienced colleagues? Why is this important?

Yes, Luxottica invests a lot in new talent and relies on more experienced employees to professionally guide and shape them.  I have been given this same opportunity and want to give back to others.

What does respect mean to Luxottica? Or how is it shown?

I believe Luxottica would not be the leader in the industry as we know it, without respect for traditions and people. The passion and effort every single operator puts into their job still astonishes me every single day.

What excites you about working for Luxottica?

There are not many global organizations that allow you to work close to executive management as much as Luxottica does. Every day you can learn something new from the best and in a highly engaging environment!

What makes you smile on the inside?

Every day I see people on the street as well as athletes on TV using our products. This makes me feel proud as a Luxottican.
